Maria asks…
Where to go in Europe??
My wife, and baby, are going to dubai early next year and have the option to go anywhere in Europe for three days as part of the travel package. She would love to go to Paris but is concerned about not speaking french and possibly being on her own there… were can she go for a good dose of culture without being concerned about learning another language or crime?

The Expert answers:
If your question was asking for a continental place in Europe, I think Paris would be fun. I went when I didn’t speak the language, and it was still quite the trip.
Also, you will be able to find other people traveling who do speak English. If she stays in a hostel, it will increase the chance of her finding more friendly people who speak English and she may even find travel buddies if she is afraid of being alone.

Sharon asks…
europe tour holiday for family?
hi,
my husband me and my 2 yr old son would like to go on 7-10 day tour of europe in jan/feb covering a few major cities and sights like paris, rome, pisa, st petersbough.. i dont have fixed idea of wht cities i want to c and it is very difficult to find sumthing with halal/veg indian food.. plus we want to go by plane/train so we can spend more time actually checking out the cites and stay in comfortable hotels.. i was looking at travel packages but most have me spending more time on the bus going from one place to another rather than actually sightseeing.. any help would b appreciated.. im so lost.. i could spend upto 1500-2000 GBP..
i would prefer package where everything from hotel, food, tranport to and from airtports and city tours are taken care of n inclusive..
forgot abt bad weather in jan/feb.. at first was confused abt where to go n now confused when to go..

The Expert answers:
Well, Europe is big, so 7 to 10 days is way too short if you want to visit Paris, Rome, St. Petersburg. Those cities are just to far apart from each other, so I suggest you choose one city/country to visit.
You say you have a 2 year old son, so I recommend you to go to Paris. There is a Disneyland nearby, so that would be a great experience for your son. There are also a lot of sightseeing places in Paris, like the Louvre, Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, etc. ![]()
Also, Paris is a multicultural city, so there are plenty of halal Indian restaurants, here’s a list of a few:

I think you’ll have less shots at finding halal food in other countries like Italy and Russia.
I don’t think there are any travel agents that offer a package that includes food, unless you go with a group. The best way is to book with ebookers.com or expedia.com (emy xperience says expedia is slightly cheaper). You can book for city tours at a local travel agent (the country you will visit) or at one in your own county. If you want an all in one package (all the things you listed), it’s best to book at a travel agent in your own city.
By the way; if you go to Paris and want to book for Euro Disney, don’t book via disneylandparis.com, but with a travel agent. It’s cheaper that way.
Also, Beverly is right about the weather. I think you’re from England, so I’m pretty sure you’re used to cold, but if you’re not, Italy is warm in that time of the year.
I wish you a fun holiday

Carol asks…
where is the best area to stay in Paris. I don’t know the city well. There will be three women on the trip.
I have been looking at packages, but I don’t know what areas are the best and safest for three women traveling to Paris this summer. Can you give me some suggestions. Moderate price hotels.

The Expert answers:
Try Le Meridien Etoile Hotel, I don’t know what moderate is to you but it is not too expensive and there are bars cafes and a subway station very close
